Applied Materials Teams with State University of New York in $600M Project

Applied Materials Teams with State University of New York in $600M Project.   Semi-conductor maker Applied Materials has teamed with SUNY to bring the Materials Engineering Technology Accelerator center to fruition.  A start-up incubator of sorts, the META center will permit materials engineering research with potential for quantum computing hardware and quantum device component development.

In tune with the U.S. national effort to spawn the next generation of research engineers, the school hopes the research will provide opportunities for internships and further research.  The new project is expected to bring 400 jobs to the area.  More evidence of quantum computing having a positive economic effect at an early stage in the new industry.
