Australian Mining Firm Jumps at Quantum Computing Materials. Australian mining firm, Archer Exploration, aims to develop corporate intellectual property based-on ambient temperature quantum information processing devices.
Having created the position of Quantum Technology Manager, Archer Exploration recently appointed the internationally recognized Dr. Martin Fuechsle to the position. The achievements of Dr. Fuechsle “strongly align with Archer’s technology development applications in the global semiconductor and quantum computing industries.”
The mining company seeks to develop quantum technology to expand their capabilities. “Archer’s vision is to build a long-term, viable mineral and materials development business focusing on areas related to quantum technology, health and reliable energy.”
Carbon Allotropes, Archer’s wholly owned subsidiary, “supplies materials that would form the critical componentry of the devices.” The corporation seeks to commercialize quantum technology.
Two barriers to entry for Archer Exploration have been overcome by the agreement with the University of Sydney, the technical barrier and the commercialization barreir. The firm believes that with “this exclusive license, we’ve been able to overcome these barriers to entry, and maybe will start setting a few of our own.”
Having control of the supply of advanced chip materials via Carbon Allotropes and having a renowned semiconductor and quantum technology scientist on staff may be the ideal combination in this budding industry where advanced materials are in high-demand and very short supply.
