AWS has announced the Quantum Embark Program, an advisory service aimed at helping customers navigate the emerging field of quantum computing. Recognizing the need for trustworthy information and guidance, the program provides an expert-led approach to assist organizations as they begin their quantum journey. With no long-term commitments, customers can get started in just a few weeks.
The program builds on Amazon Braket, AWS's quantum computing service that offers access to a range of quantum hardware. Quantum Embark adds advisory services to provide context, guidance, and expertise for customers who are new to quantum computing. The goal is to help organizations work backward from their most critical business and compute-intensive use cases, to develop an understanding of the state of the art, to identify relevant quantum technologies, and to make informed decisions about future investments and their long-term quantum roadmap.

The Quantum Embark Program consists of three modules: Use Case Discovery, Technical Enablement, and Deep Dive. Customers can choose which modules best suit their needs, depending on their prior work and level of experience.
The Use Case Discovery module kicks off the journey by focusing on tangible opportunities. AWS experts conduct workshops to help customers identify potentially relevant quantum applications based on existing business problems. Deliverables include an executive-level summary in the form of a high-level whitepaper outlining the near and longer-term value of quantum technologies.

The Technical Enablement module offers a private, two-day workshop that starts with an introduction to the basics of quantum computing. Attendees learn how quantum computers perform calculations, work with leading quantum programming frameworks, practice using prebuilt examples to build, test, and run sample applications specific to their industry, and gain access to real quantum hardware via Amazon Braket.
The Deep Dive module is designed for customers who have completed the previous modules or have prior experience with quantum computing and wish to deepen their understanding of specific target applications. This includes mapping potential algorithms to quantum programs that can be executed on today's hardware, benchmarking performance across different devices, and assessing scalability and systems integration.

Upon completion of the program, customers can choose to explore specific use cases further or build a custom research program by collaborating with the Amazon Advanced Solutions Lab.
