$30M to the U.S. Department of Energy

On May 2, the U.S. Energy Secretary under President Donald Trump, Mr. Rick Perry, announced a $30M investment into the Department of Energy’s quantum computing research and development studies. Spread across 3 years and 5 research facilities, the DoE anticipates spending the $30M in furthering development of supercomputers based, in part, on quantum information science. The annual grants range from $1/2M upwards of $2M.
