U.S., China’s Quantum Computing Ambitions. If perception is reality, China is in the lead for the race to being the world leader in quantum computing technology. With the December 21st, 2018, signing into law of the U.S.’s National Quantum Computing Initiative Act, perception may not equal such reality. From quantum communications to quantum sensing research and development, the applications are many. Who gets there first will certainly have the edge.
