South Korea Investing Millions in Quantum Computing. Over the next 5 years, South Korea is set to invest nearly $40M toward quantum computing and related technologies. Of particular note in the South Korean government announcement was investing in computational performance and computer security.
Using quantum mechanical principles, the Ministry of Science and ICT announced the investment as being “ready to kick off.” Focus of the funding includes quantum computing architecture, algorithms and software, and the demonstration of the country’s 5 quantum bit computer by 2023.
