We’re seeing it happen: Quantum computing is gaining steam. The media has begun to rumble louder with every qubit added by the commercial leaders vying for the bragging rights of attaining quantum supremacy. Underlying the hype and glitz is real science; complex scientific concepts requiring the biggest brains to advance the research. There is competition for these students and research teams. Between commercial competitors such as Microsoft and Google and research facilities such as TU DELFT and Canada’s University of Waterloo the call for applicants is being sent.
