Acquisition Completed: ZenaTech acquires Weddle Surveying Inc. to expand Drone as a Service operations.
New Applications: The initiative includes drone swarm technology and wildfire management in Pacific Coast states.
Advanced Technologies: The use of AI, drones, and quantum computing will support efficient land surveying.
ZenaTech, Inc. has finalized its acquisition of Weddle Surveying Inc., an established land survey engineering company based near Portland, Oregon. This marks a key expansion of ZenaTech’s Drone as a Service (DaaS) operations in the Northwest US region, leveraging drones for land surveys and other advanced applications.
Weddle Surveying, which serves over 200 customers, will transition its operations to integrate drone technology under ZenaTech's guidance. The combined entity plans to apply drone swarm technology for wildfire management, particularly in Pacific Coast states. This will enhance the company’s ability to survey large tracts of land efficiently and improve fire prevention and response capabilities.
"We are thrilled to integrate this acquisition, another step towards our vision for a national DaaS business which will include approximately 20 planned acquisitions, bringing the speed and precision of AI drones to legacy businesses."
— Shaun Passley, Ph.D., CEO, ZenaTech
ZenaTech’s DaaS model provides businesses with access to drone technology on a pay-as-you-go basis. This approach allows companies to utilize drones for tasks such as land surveying, crop management, and inspections without the need to purchase equipment or secure regulatory certifications.
"The level of datasets required for these expansive areas and applications can only be accomplished using quantum computing technology and multiple drones or drone swarms that coordinate together in real time."
— ZenaTech
The acquisition also aligns with ZenaTech's broader goals, including the development of Sky Traffic, a project combining drone technology with quantum computing to address wildfire management, traffic systems, and other applications. AI-enabled drones equipped with LiDAR, GPS, and advanced sensors will capture and process large datasets, enabling real-time decision-making for complex challenges.
The synergy of AI drones with quantum computing can create highly accurate predictive models for fire detection, response, and prevention.
ZenaTech has a strong history of developing innovative drone solutions. The ZenaDrone 1000, for example, is currently used in agriculture and defense sectors for crop management and field cargo applications, while the IQ Nano indoor drone supports inventory management in warehouses.
