Keep the Quantum Application Discussions Open and Broad

Keep the Quantum Application Discussions Open and Broad.
William Hurley, or “Whurley”, founder of
Strangeworks, a quantum computing application startup, has penned an op-ed of sorts discussing the overly simplistic and narrow scope the media is feeding the masses on the subject of quantum computing’s true capability differences from classical computing.

Media, he states, is touting quantum computing’s grand functional improvement over classical systems as being speed.  Only speed.

Whurley implores we, and the masses, open our minds to the possibilities of quantum computing applications.

Certainly, this will require an understanding of the basic nature of quantum mechanics and classical computing.  Perhaps a follow-on piece will delve into this in a simple, common language.  Qubit.
