Canada’s “Quantum Valley” In 2013, Canadian entrepreneur Mike Lazaridis was ranked tenth on a list of the most powerful people in Canada. “An avid believer in quantum information science, Lazaridis founded a new research center for that area of study in Ontario.”
The center is built to stringent standards for quantum and nanotechnology experiments. Controls for vibration, humidity, temperature, and electromagnetic radiation have been implemented; designed from the ground up.
The late Professor Stephen Hawking described the center as a “work of architectural genius.”
The entrepreneur’s focus is on Quantum Valley Investments, funding business at the center. The Quantum Valley goal is to move quantum technology into valuable commercial applications; it appears to be working. More on this initiative in Canada is found at the link below.
