The Platform for Digital and Quantum Innovation of Quebec (PINQ²), in partnership with IBM, announced the inauguration of an IBM Quantum System One in Bromont, Quebec. This milestone marks the consolidation of Quebec’s leadership in quantum computing and positions the province as a global reference in sustainable development.
This advanced quantum computer reinforces Quebec’s and Canada’s presence in the rapidly evolving quantum computing field. It benefits the DistriQ quantum innovation zone, the Technum Québec innovation zone, the “Energy Transition Valley,” and other strategic sectors.
Pierre Fitzgibbon, Minister of Economy, Innovation, and Energy, expressed, “This IBM quantum computer installation is a giant leap forward, promoting Quebec’s quantum sciences ecosystem and international recognition in sustainable development.”
Additionally, PINQ² will establish a Center of Excellence dedicated to quantum software development, fostering collaboration, setting industry benchmarks, and democratizing quantum technologies.
