VTT and IQM have introduced Europe’s first 50-qubit superconducting quantum computer, marking a breakthrough for Finland’s quantum research. The system is now available through the VTT QX service for researchers and businesses. With government backing and advanced superconducting technology, the project enhances Finland’s position in the global quantum race.
Fortanix has teamed up with Carahsoft to bring advanced cybersecurity and post-quantum cryptography solutions to the Public Sector. This agreement allows Carahsoft to distribute Fortanix’s offerings through its reseller network and procurement programs, including NASA SEWP V and NASPO ValuePoint.
VTT and IQM Quantum Computers have unveiled Finland’s second quantum computer with 20 qubits. This development marks a significant step in Finland’s commitment to quantum computing, following the creation of a 5-qubit quantum computer in 2021.
VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland was selected by Canadian full-stack photonic quantum computing company Xanadu as a partner to accelerate the development of their photonic quantum computers.
The 5-qubit quantum computer is part of a larger initiative. VTT and IQM aim to build together a much more powerful 50-qubit quantum computer by 2024 and further develop Finland’s long-lasting technology and expertise in quantum computing. The country already has an active research community called InstituteQ – of which VTT, Aalto University, and Helsinki University are the founding members – which is focused on developing world-class quantum expertise. BusinessQ network supports companies in incorporating quantum technology into their business, enabling growth for the Finnish society.
