Blackberry Ushers in Quantum-Resistant Code Signing

Blackberry Ushers in Quantum-Resistant Code Signing.  Blackberry teams with ISARA and others to enable quantum-resistant (QR) code-signing methods.  Taking the threat quantum computers pose to public key cryptographic security, Blackberry’s subsidiary Certicom and ISARA will work closely to ensure “durable connected devices” will maintain security in the event quantum computers crack the current ecryption codes.  Blackberry anticipates a November, 2018, launch of its QR server.

ISARA is providing the quantum-safe solution.  ISARA is establishing itself as an early leader in QR solutions, having recently partnered with DigiCert and Gemalto to provide quantum-secure PKI with “end-to-end roots of trust” for IoT devices.  The code server, the first QR code signing and key management server, will provide critical infrastructure, industrial control systems, and other “long-lived assets” with protection from quantum computing-enabled attacks on cryptography.
